like the quest with Leo and Salai is such a good example of that? Ezio saved Salai because he pretty much knew Leo was in love with him and felt that it was necessary to defend that love, and when Leo was genuinely afraid that he’d scrutinize him for his sexuality he responds with “You don’t have to lie, you two are good for each other. I’m glad.”
and that made dudebros mad because their power fantasy wasn’t homophobic, but considering one of the few genuinely goods things he does is defend love I dunno why they were so surprised
